Although Big Sky, Montana, feels remote, it’s still easy to get to!
Flying to Big Sky Montana:
The BOZEMAN YELLOWSTONE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BZN), is about an hour from Big Sky. It is one of Montana's busiest airport. With recently added direct flights, getting to Big Sky is even easier, offering nonstop flights from 19 cities and 20 airports.
The WEST YELLOWSTONE AIRPORT has seasonal flights to Salt Lake City and Denver.
Approximately half of winter visitors to Big Sky rely on transportation services to enjoy the area's many attractions. Our local transportation providers offer convenient and reliable options to get you where you need to go.
Local Transportation:
While ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft may be less reliable in Big Sky, several local transportation services provide convenient and affordable options for getting around.
The SKYLINE BUS runs 7 days a week in the summer and winter seasons. The Canyon-Mountain loop includes a variety of stops throughout Big Sky, from the Gallatin Canyon hotels and restaurants to the Mountain Village (Big Sky Resort), Moonlight Basin, and all that’s in between. There is no cost to ride the Skyline Bus.
Hop on Skyline’s LINK EXPRESS for easy and reliable transportation from Bozeman to Big Sky and back again. Pick-ups are at various locations around the Bozeman and Big Sky areas.
The SKYLINE BIG SKY CONNECT is a fare-free, on-demand service that uses an app to request transportation between Big Sky's Meadow Village Center, town center and confluence areas. It does not provide transportation up the mountain.
KARST STAGE offers year- round shuttle services from the Bozeman Airport to Big Sky and beyond. Reservations are required in advance.

Rental Cars:
For the ultimate flexibility during your visit to Big Sky, rental cars are recommended. Rental cars are available from the BOZEMAN YELLOWSTONE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT or through other drop-off services around the Bozeman area.

Big Sky, Montana
Big Sky is located on Hwy 191; 45 miles south of Bozeman and 45 miles north of West Yellowstone. From Bozeman, you’ll drive through the beautiful Gallatin Canyon. From West Yellowstone, you’ll drive through Yellowstone National Park, a perfect opportunity to spot wildlife such as moose, elk and bears.

Big Sky Canyon
The fresh waters of the Gallatin River carve through sheer rock faces as it leaves Yellowstone National Park and makes it way North to Bozeman opening a canyon passage for cars on highway 191. Along its banks you'll find many of our guided outfitters. Highlights include:

Lone Mountain
