Founded in 1973 as a winter Alpine ski resort, Big Sky has grown and prospered, now seeing more than half a million visitors every winter. Many of these skiers have become year-round residents delighting in the low humidity and mild temperatures of a Rocky Mountain summer, having relocated from hot, humid climates. The average temperature in July is 74 degrees.
